I decided to get the Wood Brothers out yesterday. The neighbor left a patch of corn for me to play in and got the end rows off by noon. I greased it up, oiled the chains, ran the dried mud out of it left over from picking last March. I changed the oil in the 45 and clean the wagon out a little. I only got about half a load picked by 5pm and decided it would be there yet tomorrow when I get home from therapy. I may have the neighbor shred the stalks and spread some hog snot on it so I can plow it under. 9 tenths of and acre wouldn't make much of a plow day if I invited help. LOL

The old Woods brings back memories, but keep your hands away from the Husking Bed, Charlie. Neighbor tried to pull out a stock, caught his glove and pulled his hand in that quick. Dad happened to be there to stop the F20 and disassemble the bed to get his hand out. Merle lost one finger and part of another.

Ouch!!
I did do a no no yesterday. I pushed the foot clutch in from in front of the left rear wheel and engaged the PTO so I could oil all the chains. I am always very careful about doing that and never try to clean stalks or anything out while it is running. DeWayne, I quit last night cause I was poohed out. I had therapy this morning so I finished it this afternoon. Still needed a long sleeve shirt. Sorry but the gloves were used last year and got washed already. LOL The crop is all in and the picker is back in the shed. All I have to do is tarp the wagon so it can set outside the back basement steps. I can haul a couple buckets at a time down to add to the wood stove. When I ever get the CA up and running again I might try picking with the AC35 1 row. It just won't handle the stalks like the Wood Brothers does. |

Charlie That's the way to do it one day at a time. It is good to see you back on the 45 again! You have a standing invite to come down and run some of my toys.
