I have a photo to post now of my 1957 45 diesel.
dad bought it in 1974 from the original owner who said he bought it new in 56. The serial number says it's a 57. just before dad bought it, one of the valve keepers came out and the valve went through a piston. The owner installed a short block with a rebuilt head. Also added a Hobbs hour meter and repainted the tractor.
it has 1800hrs on the engine when dad got it. meter still works and has somewhere around 3800hrs.
I repainted it in 1995 and replaced all four tires. it had 16.9 rears when dad got. You needed a step ladder to get on it!
The injector pump and injectors have never been touched since we've had it. Dad added a two hyd valve to it.
I don't plan on ever selling it. But have wondered if not having the original block would hurt it's value?
It has the factory power steering and wide front axle. dad never had any AC implements for it. Just a AC 3pt conversion hitch.
At the time dad bought it. He had a Farmall M with M&W sleeve set. Dad would try to bale hay on his side hill. The M would slow down and the baler wouldn't tie bales.
The 45 would bale up hill in 3rd gear and seldom miss trying a bale. dad sold the M.
