I'm finding out that sourcing parts for old square balers is incredibly frustrating. Simple things like hay dog springs or pickup tines from other brands/models can be made to work even if they aren't exact. One method I've used is to just do an image search (on google or whatever) for "hay dog spring" and look for something that appears similar, then trace down what brand it is, or it might get you to a distributer site that you could ask them to take a measurement. Same thing if you do a generic search on ebay.
Can also find lots of parts breakdowns online for other brands, but its very slow to just randomly start searching.
Then you'll have an Allisfergusondeereholland. |

Dogs keep the hay from coming back towards the plunger after it makes its stroke. Because of the pressure on the bale chute the hay would jump back towards the plunger between strokes they are spring loaded so when the plunger makes a stroke they fall out of the bale chute and then kick back into the chute when the plunger retracts. If you have ever cut or busted a fresh bale they really jump apart. Once the bale is tied it can’t jump back towards the plunger

pickup tooth 541162 has been replaed by 560242, looks like they are availabel new, but over $35/per upper hay dog spring 541271 (pictured) appears to be available new yet, but also over $35 Lower hay dog spring 545355 (not availabel) was used only on the late 303 balers, there was a serial # split just on the 303, not the 302 |

It is an original 1967 Form D-1 The # split is at 303-4601 for some parts, not all. For example, before the split the same hay dog spring was used for upper and lower dogs. After #4601, the lower dogs used a different spring, and the upper dogs retained the 541271 spring.

I have many LaPorte NOS parts. When I get a chance I'll look to see if anything looks like what You're looking for.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |
