Need another compressor on my 7045 and when I was searching I came across an "upgrade" kit. Looks like it's not much more then the cheaper OEM type compressors. I tried a Sanden kit on an L2 and thought it might have helped it a little but wasn't blown away by it. Has anyone used this kit?

That is an AP Air componet. Just put everything on 8070 and seems to work just fine. Don't care for their block behind compressor. Had to have a "custom" hose made to condenser because replacement was too short. May have fit model without aspirator on air cleaner?
Hard to beat an old 2 cyl vertical for durability. Edited by SteveM C/IL - 03 Jun 2020 at 10:11pm |

I've been extremely happy with my AP air Sanden conversion. Had it for 4 years now, works great

No matter which compressor you use, It will not be as cold as it was with the R12 unless you have a larger condenser. I had my 7010 with Freeze 12 and it worked well. It is also no longer available. I might note that R134a has different charge amounts than R12.
The Sanden compressors does require less HP than the GM A6

All I did was put in the r134 conversion kits on and put Freon in slow checking temp until it didn’t drop any more both of them are plenty cold. Every thing is original
