I know, I know, but I think we should let the seller identify himself. I will promise you that you will not find a nicer A for sale anywhere.

Like John says, I doubt a nicer A could be found. I was certainly impressed the first time I seen it and I KNOW the folks operating the pony brake that weekend were impressed! Certainly not a more meticulous mechanically restored A can be found; look at that magneto! lol

Ya, it would be mine. Prolly going to be auctioned if it doesnt sell this time. Everytime I offer this one people want to buy the kerosene tractor instead, still not for sale.

I saw that beauty firsthand in it's lair and it is a beauty. What makes you want to part with it this time Butch? I should talk to my dad. Of my trip to Ohio two falls ago, the visit with you and the tractors is what he still brings up all the time. I think there was a devilish grin on his face when you started it up for us. |

Well Chuck it's like this, we have run out of room but still have ambition to work on things so some things have to go to make room and it sure doesn't hurt the play toy bank account either. Not sure if I have too much ego for my work or what? but the tractor has been for sale now for basicaly 3-4 years for the same money as lessor tractors have sold for. This is the final pirce drop before it goes to one of the big auctions and I'll let the buyers decide what it is worth. My guess is they will wish they bought it directly from me.. |

Butch, what's your best guess as to HP on this tractor? What size are the pistons (4.75, 5, 5.25)? Does it have a gear driven generator or belt? It's a very nicely done tractor!!

When you think that the 5 1/4" bore kerosene engine in the EK 30-60 Thresherman's Special makes an easy 60 hp on a much lower compression ratio (maybe 4:1) with 563 cubic inches in factory trim, it's a near certainty that your tractor will be running over 75 hp minimum with the extra few cubes and high compression ratio. Would you include shipping cif to a UK port in the price for the tractor Butch? If so, maybe we might have something to argue seriously about.

Darrell, you know that there is no way Butch will part with that collection of WOS (worn out stock) parts that has taken him a lifetime of buying, selling, bartering, and begging to accumulate!! I felt lucky that he even took the time to show it all to me once.

Hey Butch! One neat tractor.
Sorry I still have to master the technique of posting pictures and words.
Let me wish you the very best on your sale. This tractor is in such good shape I'm sure you will get your price.
Take good care. It was a pleasure to meet you at NY GOTO.
Good Luck!

Hope you found her a good home Butch. I was thinking of trading you all my rusty tractors for the A, that way you and the boys would have plenty of projects but then you wouldn't have the money to finish them. And I would have to make about 10 trips to Ohio to drop them all off!!! Tired talking the old man into buying it as part of my inheritance early but he wouldn't have it!!!

We spent part of it at the auction in Author ILL where we picked up these two old diesels, a 6HP Lister and a 8HP Bamfords. The shop was getting way too clean and needed some more rust and dirt, LOL.

You need a Field Marshall next! Those "little" one lung diesels get heavy quick. One with its own wheels and transmission would be much easier to move around.
