My yard in town has developed a water issue. Long story short, neighbor built up his drive and water turned onto me. City is of little help. Is there a product made where I can dig a trench to run to the ditch at driveway tile , and it have a grate over the top. Water isn't a problem until it is a heavy steady rain. There was a ditch-drain between us before, but the driveway on their side eliminated that. Any suggestions ? UI want to stop turn the water cheapest way possible, that looks good and safe. Thanks tracy

Go French Drain. Perforated tile, inside a Clean Stone(Think river rock NO Sand) under a sod layer to a outfall and a entry grate above the rock layer near to where it starts to accumulate.

Drill a test hole, and see what the soil layers look like. I've installed these, with great success:

Dave, I think that might work. I was thinking of a u channel shape with a grate over the top. I would put it beside his drive and run it to ditch. Then water would head its natural course. At times it can be quite a bit of water to carry. I thought 12 inches wide and 12 inches deep. Grate over the top, so I can walk or drive over it. Thanks tracy

How about just drafting the water with a big pump to an irrigation gun and send it back to the neighbors yard where it came from

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

even easier... build up YOUR driveway HIGHER than neighbours.... ![]() when the City repaved our road it was 8 inches HIGHER than original grade('engineers' didn't use ANY measuring devices...) so city paid to have 1/2 my driveway redone but of course water goes north NOT south, so neighbour gets all my water. seeing how I'm the 'neighbour to the north' I installed 400' of 4" weeping to kinda remove the water. I was 'wishing' city would supply and install 40' of 12" culvert, even just the materials... oh well...I'l keep dreamin.... |

I was wanting to be civil about the process, but it might go south. I am going to contact the city engineer, and see what options I have. Thanks Tracy
