Bout got it ready for the test haul or three. Both beds are easy to change when needed so now to see how or IF the idea was worth making it or not. |

You better add some weight out beyond the engine, or it will be doing Wheelies when it dumps. Gary |

If you are going to go to that much work, why not extend the frame so you can have a seat on it and have the hinge back far enough to not want to wheelie all the time? Good idea for using an old mower though.

Neat idea.
Put a sub-frame under the bed and move the pivot-point as far back as possible. Put a dead tandem under the sub-frame and wheelie bars on the rear of the bed. As it is, as soon as the bed starts up, the front end is going up, and maybe even before the bed starts up. I have had various tri-axle dump-trucks to rear-up and have to be pulled back down by a track-hoe, and that with the bed pivot being at the very back; when that happens, it seems like you're sitting five hundred feet in the air. Also, it is not going to steer very well, unless you put more weight forward than there is behind the pivot. |

This does not attempt to raise the front end. The heavy motor is enough to hold down a Mack truck! lol! I really wanted a lot smaller motor but take what comes your way, so I went with it. The motor does start and run good, just don't need 15.5 hp for my use, plus I really wanted recoil start and not electric start like this one has. It's another battery to go dead! LOL!

this one has a Hydro-gear trans axle, so its variable drive --lever forward go forward, same for reverse. Neutral in center. simple one lever trans. Steering will be a stick on the front end, don't take much to kick the tires to steer, did that for the test haul but the stick comes next.
