I've had my eye open for awhile now, on the hunt for a new set of tires and rims for my WD. Haven't found the rims yet -- but there is a guy selling a shed full of tires, and he has a couple sets of 15x28s.
I currently have 13.6 x 28s -- and before i start spending money i'd like to be sure they'dfit, or if there is any down side.

Be aware that if the sidewall size is 15-28 that is equivalent to the new tire size 18.4X28 and mounts on a 15" rim. That's a lot of tire for a WD.

I just put new rims on my D17 16.9x28 tires rims cost me 330 each for the power shift type .They look really nice flat side walls and stand up right.

I put 14.9x28 on my WD.... rims and tires from a 45 and I can't move the tires to narrowest position without the fender mount plates from a 45 to get the fenders higher so the tires would hit. 18.4x28 will be even worse for that if that matters to you.

This is my WD with new 14.9-28 on 13" rims this past summer. I can't put them all the way in without hitting fender, personally I think they're just right and wouldn't go bigger.

Not only don't fit right, but kills your horse power. Road speed,--ya ups that but the old motor wont hack it.
Your tractor, so do what you like, mine are 14.9 and I wouldn't even think about bigger on them.

He said 15" wouldn't that be 14.9's? They should fit fine and plenty of adjustment on the rims. Probably not all of the way in. The problem I see is they are not mounted so you can't tell how weather checked they are. You can run your had around them to see how dry rotted they are. If they don't have the little nibs on them, I wouldn't but them. If they're in a barn, chances are they are probably used to about their limit and not worth anything except to make a rolling project.

NO! A 15-28 is the same as an 18.4 in today's numbers. WAY too big it fit well, and need 15 inch rims at least.

I've got 16.9X28s on one of my 45s, love them. 18.4s would be a bit
much, though I do have a set of 'placeholder' 15X26 wheels and tires.
They are not spin-outs and fit the fenders fine, actually taller than my
16.9X28s. I also have a set of fender mount brackets that have spacers
welded to them so you can move the fender to the inside letting the
tires spin in farther.
Attached is a pic of the 45 when it wore the 15X26 rubber. Man that old girl has changed a lot since then!
