The original color is a sorta lime green. There is a facebook page Planet Jr. & similar wheel hoes, cultivators, plows, seeders, planters that has some pictures of original paint on some items. I just found a good pic of the inside of a 300A seedbox that I believe is original. I haven't found any paint codes, but believe there has been discussion about the original color before.

I bought a 300A seeder at an auction in Banner,Il. about 1978. It was sold as a mounted planter, but I made a handle for it out of an old push type lawn mower. I've been using it for years for my green beans, and have sowed sunflowers and 'Indian corn' with it.
I've never used it for store bought seed. I save my bean seed since Dad passed, as he had been saving seed from the same stuff he bought 40 years ago. |

The picture above is exactly how they looked new. There was a frame that mounted the planter onto a tool bar.
In the late 40's and early 50's we sold quite a few of the Planet JR seeders in our truck farm area. We used an independent gang cultivator when the plants grew. We used it for making seeding and clutivating beds of spinach. At the time it was state of the art. Thanks for posting. Brings back some great memories. Good Luck! Bill Long

I had a NOS setup with Planet Jr seeders that was still wired together when I got it and everything had been dipped in orange. There was no green under the peeling paint.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Here are a few pictures of one of my Planet Jr 300A seeders. The frame is orange, the seeder is green with some red pinstriping and accents, and there is a decal on the front side of the box and a flower design painted on the rear side of the box. I have three of these for my G, and they are all painted the same
