Does anyone know where to get or would they have the front wheel bolts to mount the front wheel weights on a 16" rim for a WD45? I've even thought about buying new square headed bolts and grinding one side flat on them and using those. I would like the originals,if possible...if they don't cost an arm and a leg. Rick |

Rick, I can't help with the bolts. But are you getting the 45 ready to come over and do so plowing with me? You might look at Mikes farm on the way by there he might have a set laying around.

Don...Yes,I'm getting the 45 ready to do some plowing the first week of November. I'm getting ready to load it down with some weights, since I don't have any fluid in the rear tires. Two sets of rear wheel weights and a set of front donut weights. I figure that ought to be plenty. Do you have a plow ready for me? Rick

I have three plows ready to plow now and can get two or three more ready if I have more tractors and drivers show up. I mounted my front donut weights on the "A" Gleaner to keep the steer axle on the ground with eye bolts and they work just don't look right. lol

Just an FYI, norm doesn't have the originals but rather square head with one side ground down. They're kinda weak, as I've had the heads break off. I use carriage bolts with one side ground down and works fine. But, if someone has any originals, I'd be interested. Thanks, Dave

Does anyone have a picture of what an original looks like? Yeah, I know it's just a bolt, but I'd like to know anyway.

Eldon...could you please tell me what the O.D. of the bolt is and how long it is? I'm sure it should be at least a grade 8 bolt though. Thanks,Rick

I think the paper behind that bolt is 1/4" ruled, so you can scale it that way....anyone have the part number so I can find what bin my bolts are in? I think I only have one package with 3 bolts in it.....but can't remember the part number to search my spreadsheet.

Eldon. that don't look like 1/4" graph paper; looks like tablet paper. Should be lined @ about 11/32 spacing but who knows with all the chinese stuff on the big box market.

The bolts need to be 1/2" x 3 1/2" to work.

Brad I think you are right about the spacing on that legal pad. I measured a bolt and they are 1/2" dia, 3 3/4" long. The head is 3/4 x 3/4 x 5/16" thick.

I just checked and the set of two peice front wheel weights that I bought 3 weeks ago at an auction for $65 all have the proper mounting bolts. I guess I was in the right place at the right time.

Boy, Calvin, you're a lucky guy. I've been looking for some of those bolts for a couple three years and never seen them.
