Hey all. Looking for a little advice. “If” money were not an issue, what’s the comparison between a Glencoe soil saver versus a Deere 714 and a Deere 2700. The 2700 is obviously newer, but stick to function and bang for buck. Are Glencoe parts still available?

The Deere has a trip auto reset for their shanks like a plow so you get no bounce in tough conditions, true depth its called. One of the few things I brag about 'sittin on a john" |

I would consider a sunflower. Always have heard good things. The only reason I asked specifically about these 2 brands is there are both of them at 1 location.
Is that reset the case for both of the Deere models? |

The Glencoe Soil Saver is heavier compared to the John Deere of the same vintage. Glencoe frames are solid steed vs tubeular for the Deere. Everyone in our area used 3” twisted points on the Deere 714, the 4” twisted points would not stay in the ground. The Glencoe all used the 4” twist points.

Newer Glencoe have more clearance to pass trash than the older ones. Older ones aren’t hard to plug

What kind of time frame is "older" vs "newer"?

Newest would be the 7400
Newer would be green with black blades vs white with orange blades |
