We know the last AC was the 6070 s.n. 1972, but, does anyone know what the last orange AGCO tractor was? Maybe I should have asked if any one cares? Might be fun to know what it was and where is it now? Hmmmmm

I vaguely remember reading a story somewhere that an avid AC collector/dairy farmer had ordered himself an AGCO tractor upon hearing that they were getting rid of orange paint again. He waited awhile for the tractor to arrive and put it to work right away unaware that he had gotten the last orange AGCO tractor. I think it was when he went to the dealer for 1 of it's first services that he found out what he had and immediately retired the tractor to his collection with only a couple hundred hours on it.

Read in a magazine about that too, think he parked it after just a few hours, may have been in Heritage Iron or Old Allis news.

Heres a link if it works. I remember seeing someplace else about it when it rolled of the line.

A better question might be, when was the last AGCO-ALLIS tractor built? That  is a different question than the last AGCO tractor.  Good to know the answer on this one though, thanks for posting.

Old Allis News had an article not that long ago about the last AGCO orange tractor owned by a Mr Kaczorowski, not sure about the AGCO Allis though

Always wondered why they pushed Massey Ferguson as their tractor line instead of the AGCO brand and Allis color.

I think the Massey Ferguson name is well known world wide. Allis Chalmers or AGCO name is only known in a few countries.

For some reason some of it is about being licensed to sell it world wide. Blows my mind on how it works. Seen a picture a while back of a late model White in Brazil or somewhere in South America but had a Massey painted roof with sticker. It was said it couldn't be sold without it in the country or some bull crap. Funny thing is, last year a group of people came up from Chile. Guess what one said they farmed with? Lots of old Whites! Lol

A lot of countries do know about Allis Chalmers and Gleaner, but dont know why Agco cant have their dealers there sell them. Its odd that they could build they orange tractor in France but not sell it there, then ship it to a select few. I think marketing and head honchos were the big killers. I encourage everyone to look at were all the higher ups are from. There stands 50% of the problem.

While it is true that a lot of countries know about Allis-Chalmers and Gleaner, very few know about agco. I can remember talking to an agco dealer, (former Allis dealer) in Arkansas, telling me how he had people coming in wondering why he was selling Chinese made tractors, which is why he took on the Massey line. Outside of the midwest, nobody knew who agco is.
