Well, from the pictures I took of it, looks to be round but not all there so I'm not sure
Wish this website wasn't so picky about size of photos ( 4 other forums don't care)

Not much to go on. Tire condition is a big factor. Condition of sheet metal, engine smoking, transmission gear jumping, 3 point or snap coupler, Power steering or not, series I or II, gas or diesel...
Yes, pictures would help as well.

As a referenece there's a sweet gas D17 On Kijiji up here for $4000, so 3500 USD $ ? Really ,really nice...

Hunt4Allis - to resize your photos: open in Paint, click Resize, change 100% to 30% (or whatever), click Save. This will save your smallerized photo in place of the original. And it'll work with this Forum. To open in Paint: right-click on the file, (left-)click Open With, click Paint. HTH

Okay I do not have a laptop or desktop computer just a smartphone so there is no right or left click and I am I unsure of if I would need to install this program you call paint or if it's even available for Android phones?

Go to your app store and download PIXLR to edit and resize yoyr pics. Its free and very easy to use or I couldn't do it. You can also chose the size of your photo files in your camera app.

If you have Windows 10 it is in the software already if your pictures are in the explorer file folder. At the top. Highlight the picture, click on resize, click on pixels and change to 500 on the width. It changes when you X out to save.

I've always just uploaded and saved into the 'file manager' section of my 'member' section. THEN I select a picture, resize it within 'file manager' to 640x480 ( VGA size) and put into the message. I think the 'problems' come from DIRECTLY going from 'smartdevice' into the message. I won't own a smart phone as I know and understand what's going on under the hood....

Appears to be later series 1, if parts from a later tractor have not been added. If you can get a serial number (carb side, Flange of the torque tube, should start with D15...) it might help to clarify. Round here, in that shape, about $2500+/-

D15s did not come with a black bar grille. I think it is a late D14 painted with D15 colors and decals. Check the serial number to determine the model where Dave mentioned.

Value of a 14 ain't too much different than a 15. Much the same tractor, till the series 2 15 got the bigger motor...

Value is much the same as a series I D15 - much the same tractor.
Originally the grille was painted black at the factory. Hence, it is commonly referred to as the black bar grille. As I said, that tractor has been painted once or more in its life so far.

I'm waiting to hear back from the owner with the serial number to verify year( and now I guess know weather it's a d14 or d15 also by the serial number)
So you think by looking at the grill it was black at one point?

I probably wouldn't go over $1500. And that depends on the condition of the rear rims and tires. It would also need to be a running tractor.

It runs/ shifts drives all fine
Im having the owner check that the PTO works and the 3 point works ( any pictures of the 3 point system on these?)what I seen looks possibly incomplete...

So the serial number appears to be 149 - 233 14K?(it seems to me that maybe this is a d14 maybe the nine is a d, I'm not sure because I'm not there to see it myself I'm just taking what the guy is telling me it looks like
Looking at the motor specs it looks like a d14 has less horsepower than a series one d15 correct?(from what I could see the d14 had about 30 horsepower and the d15 series 1 had about thirty eight or nine horsepower?)

That appears to me to be a late model D-14. Grilles between a D-14 and D-15 shouldn't interchange because the side frames are wider on the D-15 to the same width as a D-17.

Hmmm, if the serial number that I'm looking forward to identify the year is the 23314 series that's over the max number on a d14 if I'm reading it correctly?
Looking at the specs for power between the two it does not specify PTO power on the d14, as on the d15 it shows 40 horsepower... The motor drawbar horsepower rating is 1 horsepower lower on the d14 compared to the d15 if I'm reading that correctly? I'm just trying to get a feel for if I want this tractor or not because it seems to be either mixed together with parts or something, it did not seem to look like it had been jumbled together but it's hard telling I guess...

D-14 was 34 HP and D-15 GAS was 40 HP and this tractor doesn't have power steering as it looks to me. Serial number of January 1960 D-14 started at 21,800 and they made them for 5 or 6 months, so 23,314 is very possible.

I'm just trying to make an informed decision on weather this tractor will be a lot better partner for brush hogging and then I can keep my ca for sickle mowing...

The guy claims that it would not run very good when he got it so he had a friend help him set the points and since then it starts right up and runs fine with a battery...

Very little difference between the 2 tractors. I have 2 of each and they are very reliable and easy to operate. However, tractor reliability is directly related to the maintenance it has had and how it was used.
