Any videos out there on the step by step process? I need to do the floor mat, seat suspension and cab kit complete.Probably mask off and paint the exposed metal surfaces. Don't want to reinvent the wheel. Can't seem to find a vid on 7000's.

I did a search and couldn't find much. I don't think you are going to find a video.

I am going to redo the cab interior on my 7010. Have you selected a cab kit manufacturer? I saw some conversation on this forum that mentioned that some guys wanted to use the lighter tan used on 8000 series. It wouldn't be original but I see the advantages of lighter color.

I am working on the stereo right now for the son. A modern stereo won't fit in the slot and you can buy vintage stereos but they are quite expensive. I am going to buy a Bluetooth amp and not worry about a receiver. He can tune his phone into a radio station if he wants to hear FM.

Since the stadium lights aren't original on the front, going to go with an LED light bar. I mounted one on my 190xt and love that light bar. I finished round baling a few times at dark and that light bar was sweet.

I probably won't redo cab interior until winter but let me know if you find something. If I redo mine first, I will document my cab kit in case it will help you and others.

Well, I had a paragraph pecked out and my phone lost it. Fehr interior. Color change maybe even IH Western!! New radio, speakers and antenna. Have the Receiver and it looks like it will fit.Supposed to be Deere antenna thst works. Modern speakers are a marvel just got to get the size right. Polyiso foam board in the roof dead space. Have to repaint the interior metal since it's surface rusty. Also new seat suspension which came with NO instructions! Floor mat. Probably build a nicer monitor stand, cup and phone holder. Wiring Powerports might not be a bad idea either.USB charge ports also? Thing has an ashtray but no cigarette lighter? My 1959 Farmall 560 has a cigarette lighter fps.

I found 4 inch Pioneer speakers and they fit with the existing holes.  I don't know if the old speakers were original or not.  What brand/model of radio did you get?

I will checkout Fehr cab kit.

I also don't know if I should use the same power wire for the 36 inch LED light bar that is used for the stadium lights.  I believe they recommend that a relay be installed and not sure if others have run a special power cable or not?

I'll get a pic of the stereo. A lot of guys have upgraded to LEDs. I think they pull considerably less juice than stock.

I have redone a maroon belly and a black belly recently. Sorry I have not posted any pics yet. I got both kits from Fehr. The fit was good but note some panels are cut oversized to allow for shrink which will happen as I have noticed already on the side bar of the black belly. On the floor panels there is a difference between maroon and black. On my 7045 I requested the floor panels for maroon belly as the seat brackets were the same as maroon. Dry fit everything first to understand how it goes in and follow the order listed in the directions.

More than you ever wanted to know about a cheap $20.00 receiver that fits a 7000series. I think for $20.00 bucks I'm going to rig and wire it so Ican pull it from inside. When it breaks. It's twenty bucks! Buy another.

I looked at the specs on that radio and it appears to be a 7 inch unit which does not work in my cab. I need about a 6.5 inch width. All of these cheap stereos seem to be 7 inches. So that may not work for you. That guy did a good job of breaking that unit down though.

I have one in hand. I have the cab lid off my 7010. Climbed up there and physically checked. It will fit. With room to spare. You have to trim about a 1/4" from each side of factory opening. That's it.

Not the neatest cuts but a faceplate covers it.

That looks like the same unit I put in mine. I centered it in the opening with the cuts similar to yours. The faceplate did not cover the entire opening so I made a plate from black ABS for a mounting plate. Will try to post a photo but I have to reduce the size and was unsuccessful so far.

I am trying not to cut up my cab to keep it original, but we will see how my stereo turns out.  I can always cut the sides if I don't like it.  I will post pictures when I am done.  I got the LED light on last night and am going to hook it up tonight.  Still worried about not using the relay but we will see.  Like to see your pics though.

I don't know the secret code is to resize. I posted once saw the size. Deleted and resized the way I normally do and they're still big. What speakers did you use?

The screw holes were transferred from the original cover plate.
The buttons where the original radio was are the light bar switches with another ABS sheet for a mounting bracket. This harness has a relay and I powered it with another circuit breaker dedicated for the light bars

The speakers use the original holes and I am in search of another cover for the right side as it was only AM before. The toggle switches are only dummies to hold the plate using the original radio openings.

Photo editing is still tricky for me even tho I have read many how to posts on this forum. I resized this last photo using my phone which seems to be easier.

The https://resizeimage.net/ site is pretty easy but it takes a little to get familiar with it. I just click "upload an image", browse to the image and upload it.
Type 1024 in the width box and leave "keep aspect ratio" checked. It figures out the other dimention.
At the bottom click "resize" and it will tell you the file size. If it is too big on #7 click normal compression and type in a percent. It usually doesn't take more than 95% to get it below 500KB.
Once you like the size click download image at the bottom and save it where you can find it.

Plummerscarin, thanks for the cab roof picture.  I notice some differences between yours and mine.  I don't see any stadium light switches or mirrors switches that are to the left of my far right speaker.  I also notice that your speaker covers are not square like mine are, so I assume I have a later model?   Mine is 1979 7010.

I hooked up my LED light bar last night to the old stadium lights wire on the front.  It all works fine although I didn't use the recommended relay.  Still not sure if that is a good long term plan.  On my 190xt, I didn't use it either and it worked fine since I did it a year ago.  Even though I know it won't look original, I am going to replace the back stadium lights with a light bar too.  I will just keep them so I can return it to original some day.  The difference in light is significant on these LED lightbars.  I had to bale some round bales last year in the dark with the 190xt to beat the rain that light bar was super sweet. 7010 is a working tractor after all.  Going to replace the round lights too on the front.  May even replace the yellow flashers because they look pretty dull from a distance.

I have to put some spacers in my speakers to avoid them from touching the speaker protector plates.  I have speakers similar to yours and they protrude past flush.  After that I will get the amplifier and bluetooth system working.  I will post some pictures of it all when I can, or make a video.

Got to get this all done over the weekend if I can.  Hay season is quickly approaching and all the rain has produced some tall hay.

The 7060 in my photo is a maroon belly #2700 so it's pretty early. The switches are where the original radio was at. The light bars I installed required and additional harness that contained the relays. I put in a dedicated circuit breaker. My 7045 has round LEDs on the light bar and since the AC is not working I used the circuit breaker from that system and have not had issues

Rough the opening in with a Metalbo. Finish with a file.Friction fit. Have to make a cover plate and figure a way to secure from behind.Resized this pic down to 480 wide. Still abit big.

Fit looks good.  I think you are supposed to bend those tabs out to secure that cage once you are finally ready.

On my 190 cab, I bought some 1/4 inch black plexiglass and made a cover plate out of that.  Easy to cut, drill and form and looks good in my opinion.  You could also go with some thin treadplate.

With that extra space below your radio, you could add some additional features like a usb charging port, light or a voltage indicator and place that into the plexiglass.  You would have to drill some 1 inch round holes in metal and plexiglass.  You could use sheet metal screws to secure the plexiglass to avoid removal of the top in the future.

I'm dry fitting everything for now. The goal is to make it removable from the front. It's a cheap head. Just pull and replace as needed. Not a bad idea on the USB or power ports. I do want to wire some in. But that location would have wires hanging in my face so they'd have to be clipped out of the way. Plus they're never long enough. I was thinking down to the right of the gauge cluster where the monitors are. If I'd used the hole on the right instead of the left for the radio that would have been amuch more viable option.

Jealous of the Polk speakers. I should have bought something like that. We will see how the Pioneer speakers work. I have to use spacers like you to make it work. I am thinking about making a phone holder for the top of the cab when I make my faceplate to keep the wires out of the way as you point out. Since my stereo relies on Bluetooth exclusively, I might as well. The phone calls will come through the stereo so you can easily look up and see who's calling. I am sure the reality of making it work will change my plans though. I got a full weekend so not sure I can get much done this weekend.

I think I figured out the spacers. I've got corner post tubing for fence wire. I think I'll cut four pieces to slide over the mount screws.
