Growing up my father had a 190xt with a year-round cab on it. He said that if the tractor was ever in a rollover accident the cab wouldn’t be very helpful in protecting the driver. Was he correct? I know allis never made a cab or rops for the WD45 and the the D19, is there anything out there for those two tractors that would help in a rollover accident in this regard?

He was partially correct. Every Year-A-Round cab I've ever seen was roll-over protection. Maybe they made some that weren't, but if they fasten to the rear axle, I bet they were. Anyway, if the driver had the windows or doors open and NO SEAT BELT, he could get hurt depending on the degree of roll over. There is nothing available for D-19 or WD45 that I am aware of, and if there was, they wouldn't be "certified" by the government to be roll-over protection. I'm sure there are weld shops that could fabricate you something, but the liability would be on you, not them.

Couldn’t a year round cab fasten to the rear axel of a D19? If my understanding is correct the D19 and the 190 have the same rear axel. I also would note that if one were to take a year round cab off of a 190 it would not fit the D19 perfectly because of the body style and fuel tank locations. |

The 190 also has a platform where a D19 you straddle the transmission.

My Dad's new Kubota BX has ROPS, and I like it... because it's a perfect place to mount two big LED floodlights (forward) and one equally big (rear)... and the switches. Yeah, it was about an inch and a half too tall for the garage door, so we lowered the ROPS an inch and a half.

gee Dave my garage door is 2" too short too ! My BX is only 49 weeks young, can't take a saw to it yet ! I'd rather raise the garage up 3 inches !! I did make a 'pirahhana bar' for it though, bolts onto the bucket in those nice 5/8 holes ! jay

That is why a 190 Year Around cab will not fit on a D19. |

A cab for a 170-175 or 180-185 might be easier to adapted to a D19. In the last issue of Old Allis News the 170 with 6000 cab looks pretty sharp. If you put a 190 cab on a D19 the cab would sit high on the tractor and the driver would sit low in the cab.

Would any of the ROPS from the 100 series fit the D19?

190 or 200 and possibly 7000. Cutting holes in the fenders would be your job.

Just a note for your thinking if it's got a roll bar or a cab it should have a seat belt on it use always .....the only way to stay safe , is to keep your ass in the seat
