Finally got the loader frame off, the gas tank is kinda dirty inside, cleaned it a bit, gas bowl is stripped , need to clamp a hose to temp. tank to try starting it. Compression about 3/4 of what the 45 I use has, just by hand cranking feel.

Some sort of yellow 3-pt on it. ALL of the tires have chloride in them, including the fronts, Will have to deal with getting rid of that crap, IF the tractor is usable. Rims starting to eat out, so something gotta happen soon. NEVER ran into that crap in front tires before! (stupid idea to put it in any tire!)

That 3 point is really low to the ground!
Mine has home made links that are too long to lift my plow all the way off of the ground.

Looks like another great AC project! Thanks for the pictures and up date. Always amazed at how these old tractors survived!
Some of the early AC tractors 1940's and early 50's came standard with loaded front tires.
When plowing we could have used more front end weight. Had to steer with the brakes a lot when you hit a little hard spot, the 45 snorted and the front end came up!
Regards,
 Chris

A WD or WD45 without fluid ballast is pretty lame traction wise, too much power for the weight.  CaCl is fine as long as it doesn't leak, Rim Guard is better, non corrosive, but more costly.  Otherwise you will need three or four wheel weights on each wheel to effectively use the 45's power.

Most problems can be solved with the proper application of high explosives.

Water is lots cheaper than heavy cast iron wheel weights at a buck a pound.  A gallon of plain water weighs 8.3 pounds.

I took all the chloride out of the one I use and have no problems here with traction for my use. I need these tractors to be as light as possible to reduce compaction to a minimal amount.
This one does have the factory ps., hope it works since that was the main reason I bought it.----well that and the wide front! ---I think the # makes this one a 55 , the parts one that came with it is a 56, also wide front.---Really wanted to take the parts wide front out and put it in the 45 that I use the most. Not sure if it would steer any better or not,--probably not without ps.
Friend of mine thinks the 3-pt might be a worksaver brand, or speeco. -- All I know is that it does have another set of holes to move the lift arms forward making it lift higher so that might be something to try.
I just hope the lift on this one works without creeping, ( adjustments don't help either) but never had one yet that did, so probably will take the 3-pt off and slap the snap-coupler on.---that's always an option, I guess.
Another thing I have to do is set the front axle in to the narrowest setting it has.---currently way too wide, hard on axle set out that wide. Thanks; ac fleet

With my father I was pleased to see the WD-45 for the life of the unit.  In it's time it was a GREAT TRACTOR.  When new they all had calcium in all tires.  I would find it hard to believe the front tires are original.
In any event you have a good 64 year old unit.  With care will give you outstanding service.
Sorry you don't have the original snap coupler.  With an AC three bottom plow was an excellent plowing tractor.
Good Luck!

The two holes behind the lift arms, and the two inner plates on the mounting plate are for stabilizers.  On mine there are two links that look like the top link, but are smaller diameter.  They also have a slight bend on the holes on the links.

I hope you understand that, cause I'm a little confused myself!Smile

I guess I coulda just posted this picture of the 3 point on my D14!

My dad bought a WD45 in mid-fifties with 3 bottom 14inch snap coupler plow from local AC dealer (I still have them both)Plowed great, but needed loaded front tires to keep them on the ground when plowing. Great tractors !!

Sonny, you did REAL GOOD!!  TWO WD45's with wide front and that PS is worth it's weight in gold if it works.  If you have a tricycle front on your normal user tractor, it'll steer easier than the wide front.  Not much, but a little.  The PS is a God send.
Good luck fixin em up and have fun using em!

Oh yeah, I had a 3-point come on one of my 45's and I took it off and put the snap coupler setup back on.  I didn't have any 3-point stuff anyway, all mine is S/C.  MUCH easier and handier.
