    Posted: 13 Apr 2019 at 8:32am
I want to replace the missing rear light on the D15 II. I have found an AC light, but the mounting bracket to hold it in place is missing.

Last I heard, those brackets were no longer available. So what are folks using?

Looks to me like a simple hole punched in the fender is just going to rip a bigger hole and tear itself out.

Older D-15's have the tail light directly behind the seat. Later models were on the fender and had a cast iron socket to mount the light to. Same part as a D17 IV and maybe III.

Yup.......this one had that cast iron socket when it left West Allis, but light and casting are both missing now. All that remains are the holes it was mounted thru.

My understanding is that cast iron socket is no longer available as an OEM part? If that is the case what are folks using instead of that socket?

Or.....does anyone have a spare cast iron socket they will part with???

BTW, I sill have one of those castings on the front right fender.......but it is about halfway ripped out too. That fender area really needs to be hammered back into shape and the torn metal welded back.

Or.......if anyone has a decent right fender for a D15 II they would part with, I might be interested in that too. The one on this tractor is not the original.........

Hmmmmm.......

Dj's does list them in the catalog......but they are out of stock.

As I recall, that has been the situation since way back last summer.....(I now remember this was where I had seen them once before........)

They do stock this pricey alternative........

I have the bracket for the fender mounted work light available and also the one for the right fender mounted head light, $20 each plus the shipping. The one on the left is for the head light. The one on the right is for the work light.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.

If I had the equipment to make D15 fenders I could make a sizable fortune! Just can't seem to find them anymore, at least in decent condition. I need a right one also-think I'm gonna have to repair the one I have the best I can.

If that is the case, I need to take better care of mine too. It does not match the left side, so best guess is the right side has been replaced once already. Has a couple tears in the metal and 2X the rust of the other side........but with a little effort, could probably be salvaged.

I certainly would not accept that!  I have my local body shop weld in new metal where needed and pound out any dents on mine.  Fibreglass does not offer any structural support.
