I'm thinking Boonvilles show is this weekend. Anyone know what the weather is suppose to do, and has done? Is it muddy?

It's this weekend.  I'll be there Saturday with both boys....was planning to fly the balloon Saturday late afternoon but weather isn't looking too good wind-wise 13 mph in the afternoon and not dying off fast enough.   Will make the call later this afternoon if the chances to fly are good enough to justify the extra gas to haul it out.

Don't think there has been much rain (less than a 1/4 inch) from the TS remnants - that stayed south...T-storms are forecast overnight but will end before morning...guess right now how muddy it will be.  Also a factor in my decision if it's flyable or not...

Thanks!! Would love to see you fly but I'd rather you be safe so error on the side of caution.

Updated forecast came out...and the forecasted winds for Saturday afternoon just got a little worse...so not planning on flying then.  May bring the balloon anyway and fly it Sunday morning from my farm in Pilot Grove as weather then should be ideal.  Mike

Thanks to everyone that came to the Boonville Show.  We had 1 1/2" of rain Thursday night and some wind. Someone said that the gate numbers Friday were down about 500 from last yearm but Saturday's crowd was around 3,249 paid which was close to an all time high (2006 GOTO) .  THey graded off the mud and disced the pull track and it was fine for the Saturday afternoon pull.  They had 333 hooks and were finished by 11:pm using two sleds.  Sorry I didn't get to talk to you Mike. Next year will be the National Case Show.

Ron - the weather Saturday was great, the winds died down about 1 hour too late.  I got a great balloon flight in Sunday morning from my farm in Pilot Grove, landed a couple miles north of Lamine, MO off Hwy 41.   Rick Maldeny (aka RickM(MO)) brought his grandkids out to watch and help crew  thanks Rick!.

Sorry I missed you too Ron.  Ran into RickM of course, Brian Ahart, Randy Grothoff and Steve Borts.  We watched the tractor pull until about 6:30 and the boys by then had enough.  The lot sure seemed fuller than normal with all the pullers rigs.  Good amount of orange pulling but not much on display.....  :-(    Mike
