Did you guys see the post about 95 year old WW2 tank gunner. He got to ride in a WW2 tank like he used in the war. The ride was thru some City streets. Those boys had it tough. Dads brother was a tanker in Patton's bunch. He spent the balance of 1945 and almost all of 1946 in the hospital working on PTSD. He had a couple of tanks blown out from under him.   He never got the wild look out of his eyes.

It is good to honor all vets! I shook a 75 year old Veitnam Special Forces Soldiers hand the other day as I recognized his unit by the cap he was wearing. I told him thanks and he squeezed my hand. I could see by the look in his eyes that my gesture meant very much!

I watched Tank Overhaul when I had sattelite tv. They had a story about an overhaul they did on an M18 Hellcat Tank Destroyer. In the research for the M18 they found records of the original crew. The sergeant in command of the Hellcat was still alive and lived 70 miles from their facility. So they invited him for a ride when they were finished. You should have seen the smile on the man's face when they drove the Hellcat out to him!
