   I've got a 180 that is in need of front tires, and I've got a few questions.  Years ago the front tires were filled with urethane be cause we were constantly having flats from all the Osage trees on the farm.  That all worked out well, except that the tires were 40 yrs old when filled and have now started to come apart.  One tire is down to the carcass for more than 50%.  My tractor isn't on the farm anymore, and the only duty it sees is mowing about 7 acres at the house, and occasionally grading the driveway and other chores.  Any way, Does anyone know what is involved in removing the tires at this point? Am I better off planning on just replacing the rims?  And lastly, is there a better option than the 3 rib tread for what I'm doing with the tractor?

	I don't know what size the tires are, but I have old 6.00 x 16 military Jeep tires with the non-directional tread on my 8N, and it doesn't mess up the grass at all when mowing. They're really nice.

	Brett if the foam was put inside the innertube, take your Saber saw and cut thru the tire, taking several chunks out of the tire. The foam will be inside the tube and not stuck to the tire and rim. Cut thru the foam and pull it all apart. You can then take the tire off the rim. If they filled them TL, pick up a couple e of used rims. Make sure you get rims off a tractor. They have a heaver center than wagon rims.

	Ok, so I had some time to mess around this afternoon. The tires were filled tubeless. Also, its not foam they are filled with. Its a urethane rubber. The filled tire and rime are upwards of 150 lbs each I would guess. So I'm not going to spend a bunch of time trying to reuse the rims. I wouldn't mind going to a different size tire while I'm at it. My thought is that going to a wider tire or a different style would be a little easier on the ground. The current tires are 7.50-16. Does anyone have any experience with Gensco Tire ? They're used aircraft tires. I've never run a tractor with anything other than the 3 rib fronts, so I'm not sure what to expect. I'm not really opposed to the three rib though, and have priced them as well. Sorry for all the questions, but I guess I'm expecting to run these tires for 20 years or more, and want to make the right choice. Thanks Brett

	wagon tires are often used in turf situations, they just skid a little more, in dirt situations, no major deal. As for Gensco, they are good to deal with, I bought 6 military tires from them, for my DD grader, about 15 years ago, they shipped to a local freight yard, and I picked them up from there...

	I have 22 ply aircraft tires on the front on my 180 and they are nice and wide. Never had a flat with them and I've had the tractor for quite a few years. Personally I like them and my farm is loaded with hedge and locust so there is no shortage of thorns.

	Thanks for the feedback Ksbowman, Do you happen to recall what size they are? And what about rims? My concern with wider tires is making sure they fit.

	I have Gensco on all tractor fronts and disks and bogg. never have to worry about flats. The front tractors are a low 5 rib, only slip in wet grass, work well for all tillage and no till stuff for me.
