I'm assuming this was farmer engineered, but lighting shouldn't be a problem!

Looks like a pretty handy solution - another "field driven" design!

Think how long that guy sat in there to get his plowing done. Back in the 80's when I worked for a farmer we ran the chisel plow round the clock. We could get 200-220 acres done in a day if nothing broke. The only time the tractor stopped was to refuel and switch operators. I don't think it would be too much fun to run that WC 12 hours at a time knowing you had a month of work ahead if you kept it going every day.

Those lights are BIG! He did a great job building it.
I wonder where it was? Is that an AC plow on it? Do you think that is a homemade harrow? Looks like posts for the cross members and chain holding it together? What do you all think?
I bet it worked good.

Paint it black, and you'd have that distinctive Amish look...

So I got to thinking. Most unstyled WCs didn't have electric systems. Suppose those could be carriage lamps instead of electric lights? They sure are big! It looks pretty cold out there. I imagine that cab kept a lot of the wind and dust off if nothing else. If it'd been me, i'd have poked a little hole for the trip cord and closed that back door!LOL! It does look a lot like an amish designed cab. Could be he did a little buggy scavenging. Might explain where the windows came from. Man with enough time, enguity, and junk on hand can make darn near anything.

Look how advance this farmer was. One pass plowed and leveled.

I love that old pic. That farmer was ahead of his time.

Those do look like lights off of an A.

Where did you find the old pics, GBACBFAN?

There's a few areas I scrounge around. The Wisconsin Historical Society has a lot of early farm pics, but the tractors are mostly I-H. Charlie Tucker put me on to the Library of Congress website, and I'm just in the initial stages of prowling the Minnesota Historical Society website. They have over 2000 pics of MM tractors and factory pics. I haven't posted many here, 'cause they're really off topic from orange, but they have some VERY cool pics.

I absolutely enjoy the detail of the old pics, and imagining life back in the day from what shows up in these pics. I think the "good old days" were a lot harder work than we're accustomed to today.

Yep, they do look like A headlights, now that I see a pic of them.
