Very nice! Next one you will need to put a couple layers at a diagonal. It would require more stock, but might be worth it in the finished product!

Salad bowl finish is a food safe finish! I've not tried it, but they say polyurethane should not contact your food! It's $28 per quart!
No, the glue is dry when I turn it-no smearing! |

I attended a craft fair where a exhibitor had a huge display of wood turned bowels. I honestly thought the Guy was a potter. It was all in the way he glued up the pieces of wood that gave his bowls a pottery look. Made me want a wood turning lathe.

Omanagreg when you turn something that doesn't need a food safe finish try a friction finish. Really turns out nice. Yup Ted some days all you make IS sawdust.
