New Harbor Freight store

   I found out we gots a new to me HF store in Des Moines.  Over on Merle Hay Road.  Sorta just around the corner from Menards.  Probably be 6 weeks before I can check it out.  Grandson's are comming out this weekend to cut wood and fire his new 22.  Next weekend I wuz told we gotta show (March 1-3) in Des Moines, weekend after that grandkids are gonna cut more wood, following that we gots a show to do in Council Bluffs.  In between I gots ta get this darn wall built in the basement, sheetrock and all.  I wasn't ever any good at finishing rock.  The pros say I work the mud too much.  Then there's the #2 son that's comming out to build some 🐝 swarm catching boxes sometime during this time frame.  Sure is nice to be retired.  On top of this she's been watching videos of these people building mini homes in these old City buses.  She's got ideas to rip out a lot of this stuff I put in this darn bus last spring and redo a lot of it.  I knew getting this Hughes net stuff would lead to more darn work for ME.  At least I put it all together with screws, sorta anticipating something like this.

	Do they have a sauna or something like that near there? Or aren't you gonna see any of them scantily clad beach babes?? You still got them mirror sunglasses?? Or did Mother break em?

	Spoke with the guys that mudded our house out. Cannot work mud too far, if anything we the general public apply it too thick and or dry where have to slather WAYY TOO Much on to sand most back off then fill the little bubbles left behind. Take bucket pre mixed, take a drill mounted grout paddle and mix thoroughly until smooth, if need to, move smaller loads to a clean empty bucket to mix thru. When is fairly thin responding then apply with a trowel to a section of taped joint and use a Knife to smooth it down, if the knife gets to curling off mud at edges clean off on pan edge maybe even dip into a water filled bucket, LIGHT Pressure for final passes on laid out mud. 	I’ve been slinging mud all morning. Doing the master bath and closet which are attached to our already finished bedroom. Jenn is keeping a good eye on me to make sure I don’t get one speck of white dust in the bedroom. I have to plastic over the door and sand and vacuum before I can open the plastic. Living in a remodel is no fun and takes a long time. I would have hired our finishers from work but I have to do all this in small sections. They are much faster than I but they’re very messy.

	If you lived a lot closer, I'd offer to mud your walls. I used to do a lot of taping. I actually enjoy it. Like others have said, thin it with water. Several thin coats. Last coat about like thick pancake batter. To avoid dust, instead of sanding, use a damp sponge to smooth it out. After the first coat, work the corners one side at a time with a flat trowel. Let it dry before you work the other side.
	Looking at the past to see the future. '53 WD, '53 WD45, WD snap coupler field cultivator, #53 plow,'53 HD5B dozer Duct tape.... Can't fix stupidity. But will muffle the sound of it!

	I always sanded my drywall with a bucket of water and a rag. Excellent finish and little to no dust.

	I was just down in Des Moines for a few days. Would have come by and taped and finished your wall. Being a just retired drywall finisher I really get a big chuckle out of the TV shows and do it yourself stuff. Like everything if the person knows what they are doing it looks easy. No real reason for a finisher to be a slob either!
	Everything is impossible until someone does it! WD45-trip loader 1947 c w/woods belly mower, 1939 B, #3 sickle mower 1944 B, 2 1948 G's. Misc other equipment that my wife calls JUNK!
