I am messing with a local high school kid. He comes from a very green family farm and appears to be proud of it. He currently is helping with the local ffa tractor restoration for a class fair project. It’s an ib. He is also restoring a farmall a at home. Not sure how he got that one...on a green place. Now for the messing part. He has expressed interest in a ac b and a couple mowers that go with it. I finally got him to act serious about it so I shot him a price. $1500 or $750 but he has to remove the Deere logo on the rear window of his pickup and replace it with an ac logo of my choice. He isn’t sure if he can change the logo so he will probably pay the $1500! Is it wrong for me to do this? I pretty much am paying him $750 to change a sticker in the window!

For $750 I'd stick one on the rear window, windshield, and front screen door window on the porch and you can tell him that to.

If the kid sticks to his guns........... I admire him... If he don't back down, go for $750. ...

I think I'd offer him one OTHER option:

keep the Deere sticker... but...

Add an AC sticker... and an IH sticker, and an OLIVER sticker, a Co-Op sticker, a Minneapolis-Moline... and at least FIVE other marques... NONE OF WHICH can still be in business...

I was asked once why i was an AC guy... well, I'm not 'really' an AC guy-  if I could own one of every tractor ever made... i would... but the simple fact is, that once you have your tools and equipment for working on one brand and model... it's easy to work on others of similar brand-and-model.  I don't have a set of special tools for Minnie-Mo... or Oliver... and of course...

If you have one antique tractor, you need a second for PARTS.  Tractors multiply fast when a guy does that...  LOL
Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest.
