so Im working on restoring a farmall h and the tank that was on it was full of rust so I found a used one on craigslist for 20.00 it is in good shape was in a hay mow with no cap for awhile so its full of leaves and cob webs, I have shop vac it out and everytime I think its clean I put some fuel in it and leaves come out of no where so I dry it back out and clean it again and again.... were r these old dry leaves coming from!!!

there ' maybe stuck at the top of the tank' take your air hose an blow it out the best you can first' also power washer works at times also. then it may suck out a little better.

Haven't worked on a red H tank but the tanks I have messed with had some sort of baffling in them. get a light in there and look forward to see if you are looking at a big butted baffle in there where things hide behind.

Dave is right the H tank has baffles in it. I would try holding it up side down and put an extension on your air nozzle to reach way in the tank. I wonder if children have been playing up there in the past? Maybe a weasel made a birthing room.

gee I can't see why you're 'baffled' with the tank, though it 'leaves' a lot to be desired, it has to be a fun project.... ![]() maybe duct tape the vacuum hose on the filler stem AND blow compressed air in where the gas comes out ? if you can move the air nozzle around to blow ,here,there, everywhere should help dislodge the leaves.the big thing is the leaves have to be dry for this to work. Take one of them HF inspection cameras, stick it through the fill hole, and it might help ya see the problem...
