Serial # is on the left side of the block. A G is for gas and a K is for distillate fuel.

Unless you have the piston out ,its hard to tell what compression is .But if you can bore scope it , Kero piston is a dish ,Gas is flat top .Pin to top of piston height is how you tell what compression is .

To find your compression ratio grab the crank handle and pull it over center 4 times.
If your bag drops halfway to the floor it is kerosene compression however If your bag hits the floor it is gasoline compression |

The engine number is located between the hand hole covers on the left side of the block. The stamping was usually pretty shallow so multiple paint layers or heavy weathering may hide it.

Ain't the original bore stamped on the oil pan or block somewhere? I think it is on mine, I need to look, but sleeves may have been changed on yours.

Does a Model A tractor only have a water drain plug under the radiator? Our other orange friends have 2 drain plugs (one on radiator and one at engine?) Just to be shure before its freezing.... Thanks! |

Allright, then it should be empty now. Another question: Does this engine have wet cilinder sleeves or dry? Thanks again!
