"tubs"?  Maybe water in the system that heats up and plugs the carb?

Possible intake leak that changes with temperature? I had a inline 6 engine in a pickup that had symptoms as you describe. It had a crack in the intake manifold that would open up when it got hot. Cold it ran fine. Get it warmed up and spray some carb cleaner around on your intake manifold and also where it meets the head. Ben
