Any growers here for Seneca Foods. We are/ have been process-en green beans since the 2nd wk of July. Beans are looking better now,but not so good the first part of the month.   cabbage after labor day.

I would hope machine harvested. I work at the plant in Geneva N.Y.  My job is Industrial maintenance. We are processing about 30 ton an hour  and about 16 to 18 trucks a day.
We have 9 harvesters,also receive some from private pickers or out of state.

When I lived in NY, I had an uncle that trucked green beans to the processing plants near Binghamton. 1950 I don't have much recollection because while the grownups were inside talking, I was outside trying to learn how to ride the first bicycle I had ever seen on a gravel road.
