Northern Hydrualic list magnun singles in there current book.A single cylinder magnum will work as long as the shaft size and length are the same. Then again I don't think that a 912 uses an electric clutch on the front like some other garden tractors (Deere, Cub,  Bolens etc). The only thing to make sure it would work is to see if drive shaft would mount up to the flywheel. A kill switch would be needed to turn it off, like a B&S engine wired to ground.  Ron

There's an ad in the classifieds on Simpletractors.com selling lots of engines. You should be able to find what you need there. I Briggs will also fit in your tractor with a few light modes. Whatever you do I'd recomend going to a 16HP engine. In the long run for a little more cash you can upgrade to more power and you'll like the power in these tractors over the 12

Just came back from picking up an engine. Came with a Crapsman tractor attached.
