HI
Finally registered tonight.  though I have been reading the discussion page quite a while.  I work maintenance in a ductile iron foundry, and play farm in my spare time. Don't have much spare time between work, 2yr old grandson and the farm. My wife and I are the proud owners of two Allis-Chalmers tractors. They are both family tractors. The older one is a 1936 AC U that my wife's grandfather bought new. At the time our local dealer was the Roy Dunham Co. in Wellsboro PA.  The second is a CA that my grandpa bought in 1973 to replace the 1952 he bought new. The original CA we had burned when our dairy barn burned in August 1973. My wife and I were blessed to be able to buy the small farm I grew up on from grandma before she died. We sell hay, a couple beefs and a few butcher pigs each year. Enough to keep busy , but not really be profitable. But I really enjoy the seat time.  A great stress reliever.  Thank's for all the enjoyable mreading,       John

Why is there never time to do it right the first time, but always time to go back and fix it?

Glad ya joined. You have a true family heirloom in that tractor - both actually. Friendly folks here - don't hesitate to ask questions or share your experiences -- that's how we all learn.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm kind of challenged on picture taking ,much less
on posting. Will try to try it hopefully soon.  The Foundry I work in is the
HMAC in Lawrence Twp.  Started at Ward's in Blossburg. I was able to bid to
the present factory  "BC".    (before concrete was poured on the floors) We
love the Allis's , but must confess to appreciate all brands . Especially pre-
1980.  I do hope to meet members.      John
