Very good reminder! Thanks for posting. Sadly many Americans think that Memorial Day is just a time for cookouts, picnics and a long weekend and never stop to think of those that made the supreme sacrifice.
Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God.

So very true. Around here there Cemeteries all get flags on the veterans graves and have a parade and ceremony honoring the veterans

The older I get,  the more dear it becomes.   Thank you all who served.   Real heroes don`t wear capes,  they wear dog tags.

Real heros wear dogtags, not capes.

To this day, that song just gives me the creeps.  And something ALWAYS get's into my eyes and makes em water.
THANK YOU to ALL the ones that gave the supreme sacrifice for our freedom.  And THANK YOU for all the ones that served and are now serving.  The sacrifices they make are something that is a trial for themselves, missing family, births and deaths and all the little things that we enjoy.
God BLESS you ALL.

agree'd with all above! we have lightings on our home, green for Military, blue with black stripe for law enforcement, and red/blue for our fire and rescue personel. almost all that see them lit at night think we forgot to turn off our Christmas lights! they are in their separate bunches! I've had to explain things to them! now we are seeing a lot more of the same thing showing up on others homes!
