I have inherited a Model 160 with a hydraulic system that seems to be of the 2nd version sold with that model.  Mine has a dipstick to check the level and a rather tall high pressure hydraulic oil filter located near the radiator and I'm looking for the part number for that high pressure filter.  My 3pt will not currently raise but I have found water in the hydraulic system (white milky color) as the tractor sat outside for many years.  I have changed the fluid and it is "less white" but suspect I need to change the high pressure filter as well and then the fluid again to get the last of the water out.  The high pressure filter is not referenced in the manuals so I am looking for guidance on the part number or replacement part number so I can order one.  Would also appreciate any advice from anyone on other possible things to look at to get my 3pt to lift again.

The filter is 72074423. The usual suspect when the 3 point doesn't work is the pump lost its prime. If you force air into the hydraulic reservoir  and push the oil to the hydraulic pump they usually work. The pump is usually the cause for losing its prime, which is inexpensive and easy to replace. If that doesn't work than its in the block under the seat, there are shuttle spools that need to work in order to flow oil to the 3 pt if one of those spools are stuck they don't shift and force oil to the arms

Thank you for the quick response!  I also heard about priming the pump with air compressor so appreciate you confirming that approach and possibility.  You wouldn't happen to know how or where to map the 72074423 part number to something I could find on the web to order do you?  I can not seem to find it anywhere.  Hard to stump Google but think I may have as the only reference I found was someone else trying to find it as well.

You can go to Baldwin filters and cross reference it, Donaldson and wix etc have similar web sites. Agco dealer may have the filter. You can look on the housing its possible its a parker and they can come up with a filter. I would try you local agco dealer first

Minnpar has them but they're 107 bucks!! You may want to take your apart it may just be a fine mesh you can wash in solvent, by the price and description I'm betting that's what it is

After talking with all of the vendors listed, Minnpar was the only one that could successfully map the correct part numbers and find the high pressure hydraulic filter.  The correct part number for the filter element is 72074088 and a new O-ring to go with it is part number 70929242.  Only cost $45 but minimum order of $50.  They were very helpful.  Put this out there in case someone else needs to find it.

NOTE: The part number listed earlier in this chain: 72074423 is for the low pressure, suction side hydraulic screen filter.

The part number I gave you was for the filter in front of the radiator, which is what you were asking for, and that came right from agco parts

I would have never found what I was looking for without your help - much appreciated.  According to the 3 different vendors I contacted that part number referenced the strainer on the low pressure side but they all said it actually referenced 2 things so that may explain the discrepancy.  See attached pictures for the info and part I found.  Mine was the 1st version shown.  NOTE: Pictures are large so you will have to scroll to see them as the grey shown below is just the left side of the picture.
