Ran across this on STL CL.

1985 GMC 7000, 366 on Propane with an automatic, as it sits runs and drives $500.

Check the frame for cracks.  A propane guy once told me that they quit running propane engines because they vibrated so much it would crack the frame welds.

I think I would be verifying the Serial Number Title through local Police and also Carfax before I bragged too much.

That may be more than just a 'steal'

EG this 1985 GMC is priced a little bit higher !   $8,000

John I ran one of those for 3 years. It did not vibrate until I lost the brakes one day. Was headed back to the shop downshifting to slow down. I was starting to turn in the drive at the shop, downshifted and broke the crank just ahead of the flywheel. It still moved but it did shake bad. Oil never got dirty, I used synthict oil in it. Should make a good truck for you.

2 totally different birds. The one for $8000 is a pickup, he bought an actual truck. And just because they're asking $8000 don't mean it's worth that much, or they will get it.
I bought my 1986 C70 2 years ago for $1000. Around here the going rate for TRUCK like that is $2500-6000 depending on condition a what bed is on it.
Looking at the past to see the future.

Great deal. I had a 79 Chevy 7000 with a 366 and Allison automatic. It also had a 2 speed axle and air brakes. In its final years here I installed a 450 bu gravity bin. Two speed axle is great because in low it has gobs of torque for field work but will run out of RPM's at about 40 mph.
Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed

Keeping the LP. Have the other beast on gas where have to drain the crappy stuff available EVERY time it has to sit long. Goes south and sour as if designed to at around 30 days.

LP can get a different set of tanks like a fork truck, mount a hanger and fill as needed where if shut off will not sour.
