All you guys that are running electric fuel pumps: what are you running? Most guys I see running them are running the facets. Specify what you use and PSI. Getting tired of having to purchase fuel pump rebuild kits every year.

i use a facet,( i think it's the 3-4 psi) but i find that the heat from the engine will cause them a premature failure, i mow 3 acres with mine (so about 55 hours per year) i usually get about 3 years out of one.

We use ours for about 6 acres a week and odd jobs so hours normally get racked on lol. For the last 2-3 years we've had to rebuild the stock fuel pump because the diaphram and seals keep going out. We normally run them empty of gas and run stabil through them before putting away for winter. Works well for the most part except this ongoing issue. Does the 3-4 psi seem ideal? I was leaning more toward the lower 1.5-2 models.

Still running the stock pump on both of my 720’s. Haven’t had this issue before. Rebuilt the pump as part of a restoration 7 years ago in one of them. Not sure what’s causing the issue.

You're going to want the lower PSI pump....3-4 psi will push a lot more fuel than you need. A nice mod, even with the lower pressure pump, is to enlarge the bore in the fuel return line fitting on the carb. The oem hole is very restrictive, and when converting, you can end up with fuel in your oil quickly if your pump overwhelms the carb and the return can't handle the flow.

YES, I DID HAVE TO DRILL OUT THE RETURN, SO FAR AFTER 7 YEARS HAVEN'T HAD ANY CARB/FLOODING ISSUES.

That's a sharp looking 720!
The one on the left we picked up at an auction. Supposidly had been gone all thru but since we've acquired it we have done nothing but replace things lol. The one on the right was my great grandfathers who purchased it new. We acquired this one after my great aunt had sold her farm.

Nate, try using Startron stabilizer. I quit using Stabil when it ate the gas line on my jd. Had to replace from carb to tank. A friend said stabil will rot from the inside out. Just my two cents.

I got one from advance auto, think its mr.gasket brand, low psi, been several years now still works good, but we don't have the bad gas trouble a lot of folks have out east,actually no gas troubles. still running factory pump on 620 and that's from 74

Todays Ethenol plays havoc with rubber parts in pumps, carbs etc. That's probably your culprit if there's Ethenol in the fuel you purchase.

I'm pretty sure that it has a large part to do with it. We normally run the stabil before storing to help but here lately just seems it doesn't help much.
