I always enjoy watching Green Acres reruns when I can find them on television.

Heck, everything I know about farming I learned from Green Acres!  Edited by CrestonM - 22 Apr 2018 at 12:30pm |

Good show, wish tv programs was like that now. If it wasn't for the pickers and rerun westerns and 60s shows I wouldn't need a television.

My favorite line from green acres was in an episode where Oliver is crank starting his tractor, and the crank shaft comes screwing out of the front of the engine. And the way the show goes, he has to climb up the telephone pole to make phone calls. So as he is up on the pole to call in for parts for the tractor, Lisa comes out and sees him up at the top of the pole. She asked him what he was doing up there. He tells her that he's calling the parts man because he has a broken crankshaft. Her reply was, "Well you shouldn't be climbing up that pole when you have a broken crankshaft, should you?"

Lisa bought Oliver a ‘Commander (Ford) 6000’; with ‘music from each wheel’.

I think the story goes John Deere was helping sponsor the show by providing a tractor, but changed their mind pretty soon after the show started. Ford sponsored from there on out. A Fordson F was seen throughout the episodes, badged as a “Hoyt-Clagwell”.

I think later on Oliver gets something like a Ford 6000, but I’m not sure. Just what I’ve been told. |

[TUBE]umS3XM3xAPk[/TUBE] Its obviously a hoyt-clagwell, a cheaper imitation of the Essex Tri-Directional tractor.  Anybody knows that...

In the opening of Green Acres, what is the tractor that Eddie Albert is driving?
