I have a Husqvarna with a Brigs engine. It's been a good machine and mostly trouble free. But here lately it has spells of not charging for a little bit, then picks it back up and then quits again. Tested the battery and it's charged up, starts good and everything works. Have any of you had this kind of trouble? If any of you could give me a place to start sometime between now and spring I would really appreciate it. Don't need it today. Nine below out there and I ain't that stupid..................YET

could be a bad gground on the reggulator of the brriggs engine ( hay I'm kkkkold from being outside).
usually they're a cast aluminum 'block' with 2 connectors on them, 1 goes to alternator ring coils, the other supplies DC to charge battery and run accessories. The module does need a Ggood gground, could be a simple, remove, clean, reinstall. If you need another you can probably buy a whole rider for less than what bbriggs wants for the reggulator! Jay |

Clean all the terminals!! From the battery to the ignition switch, and then more if you can find them! Take them off, sand/wire brush/what-ever. Re-install with that die-electric grease and see it helps??

Thanks guys. I was thinking it might be a ground problem, but I wanted to make sure. This is the first time I've had any electrical problems. Otherwise it's been mainly free of problems. All I've done to the Briggs engine is change oil, plugs and adjust the valves. I'll put a note here when it gets warm, probably sometime in the latter part of March.
