Afternoon,
I wish to install a hot water cab heater on this unit. It is equipped with a 262 6 cyl. diesel. I have tapped into pipe thread plugs on the lower left side of block with one hose (specifically at the height one would drain the block) and the other hose I connected to a 1/2" pipe thread in the very top of the block to a coolant casting that runs parallel to the exhaust manifold and the valve cover. I am on the block side of the thermostat with both connections. The engine gets warm , however the heater core installed in the cab is not producing heat. I know on this model of Diesel engine there a casting pipe between the radiator and the water pump. Not sure if I should be connecting my second hose to a different location to produce heat.

Look forward to whatever wisdom can be shared.
Thanks
Blanco

one side should connect at the water manifold outlet teed in with temp gauge and the other goes to suction side of water pump.  its a little different depending on which side of the serial # break you are on

go to this link and scroll down to pg 278 of 307 of the pdf shown at the top.  or 264 shown in bottom of parts book picture.

Thanks for your insight,
I have been able to open the information, the pages that give more detail around the water pump and thermostat are 90 to 100. That being said is there more specific detail as to the exact location based on the pages indicated. I remain unsure as to where exactly on should tie in around the water pump.

I look forward to your response.
Thanks
