Got an issue with a Marvel Schebler carb on a WC. It had sat for years and was a mess when I took it apart, full of rust and gunk. Soaked it good got it cleaned up got a new needle and seat, float and gaskets, blew out every port and put it back together. It will fire and then die and if you let it sit a little bit it will fire and die again but if you keep cranking it won't do anything. I opened up the drain and there is a good steady stream of gas coming to the carb. The float is set at 9/32" which is what the IT manual said. Took it apart and cleaned it for the third time and no change yet. I borrowed the carb from my brothers WD just to make sure the carb was the problem and it runs pretty good with that carb, too bad I have to give that one back. Anyone got any idea what I might be missing here, could it be the venturi?

Sounds like the main jet is totally plugged. Did you try to open the main jet a couple more turns? Does it help to have the choke on all the way or partially?

I have blown air and carb cleaner through the main jet so I don't think it's plugged but I will take another look. I have backed out the adjusting screw a few more turns, didn't help, my son thought I should take that screw completely out but I didn't think it would work that way so I haven't tried that yet.

You need to run a small wire through all of the passages. Carb cleaner and compressed air will not always clear the passages.
