Okay, Picked up an A Allis from an auto 'parts yard'... Needs a few items...
![]() ![]() ![]() Okay, so I need lots of items for this bad old abused, neglected boy... Yes, this is all I got. No heads or radiator or tin or fuel tank, nor the engine side covers. and worse... ![]() The front cover of the engine that is part of the front axel support is broke. A previous owner had made a bracket for the front support and bolted it to the webbing which then broke the front cover itself out. By chance, does anyone have that bolster /engine cover laying around? Sure will be a project, and Lots and LOTS of attention.... Thanks for looking, JC |

Mike Z, those access holes were to make adjusting the connecting rods easy and to take the pistons out the bottom end without taking the heads off.
Creston, serial # A26094. The other thread is at bottom of page 3 already, and no, I did not find out, but think it was maybe for part of seat support? Just guessing DD, like one fellow said, 50 dollar tractor, 250 dollar magneto... LOL Gary, I will have to remember you when I start getting into that engine... Does anyone know if the front cover is the same on the A as on the model E ? |

'E' front cover is quite different. That one is unique to the 'A'. If all the pieces are there, it could be welded if you can get it to a good cast iron repair shop. There is a very good one here but it wouldn't be cheap.

Thank you for putting an end to that question.
Now the question is if the front cover isn't going to be cheap, How much of the tractor comes with it? ![]() |

Lol! "Hey Bub, you need a house to go with this door knob!" Those were the kind of tactics I used to try! "Hey Dad, I've got this old operator's manual, now I need the combine to go with it!" Lol
