I have a stock 301D in a 190xt. Would like to bump up HP.
I am reading that connecting rods may be a weak point. Could anyone give me input on what HP and boost they will hold up to? Thank you! |

Always heard that they can't take much more than 45 lbs of boost, timing affects this too, don't go over 36 degrees,,

Oh ok. Good to know. Any idea on how much HP before they scatter or is that not a concern?

If you stick with your turned up Roosamaster and a little turbo upgrade you should be fine, I pulled the crap out of a 200 turned up like this for a few years and no problem,, could pull in 5th in the 9000 class, mostly 4th tho, never had power issues

2 cents: get hardened rods and wile you have the pistons out get the sleeves cut for fire rings and sleep easy. maybe go as far as cut pistons and copper gaskets
