 Good Evening fellow AC'ers,

I have recently acquired a 180 diesel, I was told while haying it developed an engine noise, it lost power then the power came back, supposedly the noise would come in at 1000 Rpm.It sat for a long time (10 +/- months) without being run, I finally got to run it today, I went for broke and drove it down the road about a mile and back. I ran it in 5th and put the power director in and out, on the way back when I hit some small inclines I notice it lugged way down and there was no throttle response, once halfway up the hill the power would come back and throttle response was back. I never heard any engine noise through the full rpm range, at Idle it has white smoke, when I held my hand in the smoke it appeared to be fuel as when I removed my hand it had a shine to it and felt like diesel fuel was on my hand. I though may be it had lost an injector tip so I pulled all of them only to find all tips were intact but there is heavy deposits on the tips. There is no coolant in the base and the radiator is keeping its level. Any help is appreciated

Might be time for an injector pump rebuild.  While you are at it, make sure there is no crud in the bottom of the tank and change the filter.

Have the injectors checked. Could have one or more sticking or just bad. Could also have return fitting in top of pump plugging.      MACK
