kept losing power on my 180 D, put new fuel filter on, ran great for about 10 mins, then lost power again, took settling bowl and screen off, wasn't very dirty, cleaned it, turned fuel on under tank while bowl off, just a drip!. is there a raised pipe inside the tank where the fuel exits? or is it just the threads from the settement bowl holder? i guess what i'm trying to say is the hole in the tank a flush hole with threads? i'm gonna hate to take the tank off as i just filled it!

You probable have a bug blocking the fuel flow. I've had that happen a few times.

Shameless, try blowing some compressed air back up the fuel tube at the bottom of the tank and see if the flow improves. Make sure to either remove or loosen the fuel cap. This will let you know if there is something in the tank that shouldn't be there, at least.

Best thing to do is to thread the valve and bowl top (working on memory here, it has been a few years since I had a 180) out of the tank. Let some fuel flow out if it will at full stream. If it comes full stream then clean out the valve you removed and put it back in. This can be messy but it usually prevents the repeat problem. It is best to put you finger over the hole after it flows full while you clean the valve with some air or what ever you may have handy.

HELLO
GO TO THE TOP OF YOUR INJECTOR PUMP AND REMOVE THE RETURN LINE FITTING, START THE TRACTOR IF IT DOESN'T SHUT DOWN THEN SCREW THE BARB FITTING BACK ON TOP OF THE PUMP. IF THE TRACTOR SHUTS DOWN THEN THE BARB FITTING IS STOPPED UP. THERE IS A RUBBER CAM RING IN THE PUMP FALLING APART MOVING TO THE TOP OF THE PUMP AND PLUGGING THE FITTING HYDRO LOCKING THE PUMP. |

found the problem! tractor was sabotoged...took the tank off after siphoning 15 gals of fuel out the top, that fuel was good and clean, lifted the tank off, drained out the remaining into a bucket, took a flashlight and shined down inside, saw something, couldn't tell what it was at first...got it towards the fill cap and pulled it out with a long needle nose pliers....it was a very expanded tampon! i think i got most of it out! gonna take it into the car wash and spray it out tomarrow, make sure there's not any gunk in there as long as i have it off the tractor. i may change the planter to the 7010 to finish, maybe while the tank is off i'll wash out around the cowling and body, maybe find the wires that were on fire a couple years ago when i lost all lights! pffft!
