Can someone tell me the difference in the 400 series loaders. I bought a loader off of a d15 series 3. I went to mount it to my D17 series IV and it doesn't fit where it ties into the rear axle. It is about 10" too short. Would I need to buy just the rear mount for a 400 series loader to fit my D17?

If you noticed, the axle brackets are bolted on. Any D-17 takes different axle brackets compared to any D-15. You need D-17 axle brackets, or fabricate them from angle iron.

Looks like I'm going to have to do some checking around for that bracket. Otherwise i will make one. The d17 I have has only 1 input and output for the tractor hydraulics so I purchased the front pump with the loader. The pump input shaft seems to be about 2" too long. Does anyone have any more information about the pump sizes? I also would like to know if the loader arms and loader brackets are all the same for the 400 series loaders. Thanks for all the information.

Cut the brackets just under the foot rests, attach the rear hardware to the axle and graft in angle iron to make up the difference.

The D17 brackets are made from a heavy angle iron. They have a bend in them. If you don't have a manual. PM me your cell and I will text a drawing from the manual so you can see what they look like. HTH Tracy

I just got the manual and I see what you mean about the rear brackets. Thanks for the information. I installed a front mount pump on the d17 as well. I had to cut the pump shaft down 1-3/4" for it to fit. I'm assuming because the d17s engine is bigger
