OK, real curious..
I have an FPD50-24-2PS forklift here, some may know I call it the UltraLOW compression diesel....Buda BD153... Guy has an F40-24 unit, was gas, he's converted to Kubota diesel...1/2 done... Question. Will the Kubota diesel 'pop right into' MY forklift ? IE do they share the same 'drivetrain' / frame / etc. ? Knowing how A-C 'reuses' parts, I'm hoping this is possible....... Jay |

I doubt that it would be an easy swap but you need to take a look at the bell housing on your forklift and on the Kubota Diesel to see if they use a common SAE bell housing size and bolt pattern...if the fwd reverser is the same you're maybe in luck switching it all as one unit. If you check it out let us know what you find.

I don't know about the kubota to older forklift conversion, I'd hesitate to try it, cause the kubota likely develops its torque, at a higher RPM, than the OEM motor... Let us know if/how it works...

well Kubota is out of the question, guy sold it,all that's left is an engineless,'project'.
I'm thinking the Buda is maybe 30HP ? Google can't find HP specs, though I got a liberated manual on the gas one,EVERY spec but HP ! Jay |

Probably as good as any guess on the HP. You wouldn't consider overhauling the Buda that is already in there?

I was quoted about 5,000 Canucks to rebuild the Buda 2-3 years ago and that is NOT an option....details like what pistons are in it( 3 vs 4 rings),what fi pump, etc. made it a guessing game....
I'm working on plan 'D' at the moment...when she finally won't start THEN I gtta get real serious..... little details like lifting off the 4,000# counter weight HAVE to be figured out.... Jay |

I know it's your call but if you simply gave it a ring job and made sure the valves are good you'd be impressed with the improvement at a cost of a few hundred dollars plus "sweat equity". I've never been disappointed yet with these minimal overhauls.
