Series II, as far as I know, came with the deluxe seat, like the D17 Series III & IV, where as the early series or series I had the metal pan seat.  Rick

The standard seat on a D-15 series 2 was the pan seat. The OPTIONAL seat was the deluxe seat, just like a D-17 S3 and S4. Power steering and tachometer were also OPTIONS, but most tractors I've ever seen had those too.

Never have seen the D15 Series II with a pan seat, but not saying they didn't come that way...just I've never seen them that way. Maybe they had already changed a lot of them over from the pan seat to the deluxe seat then?   Rick

Dealerships were ordering them with the OPTIONAL deluxe seat, as well as power steering, and a tachometer. Kind like a Farmall that didn't have a TA....it wasn't standard equipment----it was optional.

There is one for sale around here with a tin seat on it.  Pretty nice original with factory AC loader.
