Is it a good idea to store an allis b over the winter with the clutch pedal locked  down so the plate doesn'tget stuck to the flywheel?

I never have -- had them set for years and not stick.

I've never had a problem with my tractors since I've had them.
When I got my 8N it was stuck, but it had sat for 30 years though.

If you don't let it get wet it will never stick.  Even then only one off season, I wouldn't ever worry about it.  By having the clutch depressed for that long of a period, I would be slightly concerned about reducing the spring force on the pressure plate springs a little.

I'm with Orange Blood. I'd be more worried about compressing the springs that long than the clutch sticking.

Well, I've had two or three tractors sitting in the shed dry, I thought, that ended up with stuck clutches in them. However, every time that happened to me, it was a very wet year and I really do believe they stuck from all the moisture. That is one reason I won't stand on the ground any more and start a tractor! Two different times I was actually on the tractors and it's a " holy chit" moment when the tractor takes off and you're not ready for it! LOL! At least I had the big door open at the time and the tractor headed the right direction!   Rick
