my D19 power director light comes on with hot oil at a medium idle and
when lifting a heavy load it lifts slow.Any ideas where to start?

I would start with changing the filter, if that does not fix it check pressure, light on means low pressure.

filter and oil is new,if pressure is low do you think pump
needs a rebuild?

you power director pump and hydraulic pump are different, sounds like you have more than one problem.

the pressure sender for the lite is up on the filter housing. plug a guage in there and see what the pressure is and see if in fact it does go down. All the PD pump does is pump oil to the filter and for lube of the PD gears. Lifting is a separate issue, may be the pump has some check ball springs broken which will cut down the flow, the more you try to lift the slower it will get. A relief usually doesnt act that way, it all or near nothing. you have to pull the pump to get to the check ball springs. HTH |
