Sorting some of my uncles papers today and found the original sale reciept for the 52 CA I bought from his estate.
He bought it in January 1954 along with a "CA 2-14 plow" sale price for both was $918.00.
Also in the same stack was the original title for the unstyled 38 WC his father bought in '42.
The title for the WC will go with the tractor.

Good Luck!

You guys just have to remember that $1,000.00 took a lot longer to save back in the 40s and 50s than it does now.(unless you're me, then it STILL takes a long time to save up a little bit.LOL!).

Haven't found any of Dad's equipment receipts yet, he only bought a couple new, everything else was used and cash.  But I did find a receipt from 1948 for a new servel gas refridgerator, $400.00.  Run that thru an inflation calculator and it's like paying over $3000.00 for one now, ouch!

My uncle mostly kept everything related to finances or taxes. We've found receipts from the local sale barn going back to the late '50s. Tickets from the Co-Op elevator for grain he sold in the '60s. If something could possible be reused or made into something else or used for parts he probably kept it.

My friend from work just bought a cultivator and plow for his C. The original receipt for the cultivator came with.... $99.00 brand new.

My brother-in-law bid in (for me) a 1950 B at the dispersal sale by the original owner. I brought it from NY to Maine via the Canandaigua GOTO several years ago. Some time later, my Bro-in-law called to say that they had found the original receipt for the tractor and was wondering if he should throw it away or send it to me (he was trying to test my abilty to withstand "the big one". I have it now. Bob@allisdowneast

Looks like a private sale of a used tractor. The old titles are knid of confuising and it may have been a used sale from a dealer.

Larry, That sounds like a bargain. My Dad bought his CA new in 1951. I don't have a receipt but am sure he said he paid $1400 for it with the plow, cultivator, and belly mount sickle mower. He traded the C in so that might have been the sale price and then they knocked off for whatever a 3 year old C was worth. Wish I had the paperwork.

It would be really cool to display that receipt with the tractor at shows.
Why is there never time to do it right the first time, but always time to go back and fix it?

It's interesting to see what inflation does to prices...

here's one online inflation calculator; there are many others.

The original sales receipt for my Grandads' 1950 C with 11.2-24 tires, 80 series cultivators, 8-disc pull-harrow, used Athens disc plow(don't know what happenned to that one, drawbar is still there.), and mounted two-row cotton planters is still at their house. My grandmother showed it to me a few months ago. I think he gave less than $2,000 for all of that stuff.
