Am I missing something here? Put the water pump and fan assembly back on the engine and set up the alternator with the new belt. The fan pulley lines up nicely with the outer pulley on the crank, but the alternator lines up with the INNER pulley on the crank. Do I have the right pulley on my alternator? The alternator came with the tractor, but I suspect it may have been changed at some point in its life. Can someone give in an idea of what the correct alternator pulley looks like?

Would the outside of a double pulley align with your others? Just a thought.

Pulley goes on first, then the SPACER, then the fan. Use inside groove on crank pulley.

I used me vertical milling machine to cut slots in the bent steel alternator bracket to allow aligning the pulleys on my gas 4020.

Has 2 coats of AGCO corporate orange on top of 2 coats of grey primer. There is going to be a lot of touch up to do once I get this engine put back together! |
